Brandon will be finishing the final draft of the novella in October, with fast and (hopefully not to) sloppy work being done to get an ebook edition put together and available before Rhythm of War releases. What this means, is that it is being published by Dragonsteel Entertainment LLC in its initial release. For most of Brandon's books, Tor, Random House, Gollancz, and/or other publishers buy the rights to a book before Brandon even writes it, and they plan on the ebook, physical book, and audiobook releases often simultaneous releases through all three mediums.ĭawnshard is a novella Brandon did not sell before writing, and chose to include it as a reward in his Kickstarter Campaign for The Way of Kings Leatherbound Edition.
